On Wednesday February 12th, the West Hill School children and staff members will participate in our fifth annual service-learning project benefiting the Caring for Friends organization. The children will fill “Breakfast Bags” with non-perishable foods, as well as draw pictures to be taken to the local Caring for Friends community. Caring for Friends is the largest and most comprehensive meal delivery program in the five county Greater Philadelphia regions. Caring for Friends currently serves over 2000 individuals. Their meals and outreach services are provided free of charge, enabling those served to conserve their limited fixed-incomes for their other necessities and living expenses.
This West Hill School project provides a valuable opportunity for the children to have a hands-on experience of helping others, giving back and supporting their local community.
